Boxing pundit fail

With judges at main event boxing copping some flack of late for dubious scoring, Showtime introduced a new expert to their boxing team last weekend to take the viewers at home inside the minds of the men with the scorecards. Introducing Chuck Giampa, retired judge of over 100 world title fights… the only thing was when they did introduce him he had a brain freeze live on air, fluffed his lines and then uttered a four-letter expletive before being cut off. Tragic, hilarious and very insightful at the same time…

Hearns and Roach elected to Hall of Fame

Middleweight great Thomas Hearns and legendary trainer Freddie Roach head the list of 13 people elected on Tuesday to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in the Class of 2012.

Hearns, who used the nickname ‘Hitman’, compiled a 155-8 amateur record and was 61-5-1 with 48 knockouts as a professional, collecting a total of five titles and becoming the first boxer to win titles in four different divisions.
