Brook closer to world title after impressive display

Welterweight contender Kell Brook looked every bit the part as he stopped Poland’s Rafal Jackiewicz in their WBA world title eliminator on Saturday night.

In front of a sell-out crowd at the Ponds Forge Arena in Brook’s hometown of Sheffield, the local boy cruised to a sixth round stoppage as he outclassed the rugged Pole from the first round.

Kell Brook: 'Title shot after Jackiewicz'

Welterweight contender Kell Brook has fired off a warning shot to the world champions at his weight that he’ll be knocking on their door after his WBA title eliminator this weekend.

Brook who faces rugged Pole, Rafal Jackiewicz, in front of another sell-out audience in his hometown of Sheffield has vowed to make a statement the champions cannot ignore on fight night.

Matchroom Sport have announced that welterweight contender Kell Brook will face Polish boxer Rafal Jackiewicz in a WBA world title eliminator in Sheffield on October 8.

Brook returns to his home city after his dominant win over veteran Lovemore N’dou in June and will move a step closer to his dream world title shot with a win over the 34 year-old Pole.
