WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and newly crowned WBO super-bantamweight king Nonito Donaire came through their respective fights on Saturday night’s ‘Welcome to the Future’ bill (photos below).
Chavez Jr, who defends his title against No1 contender Marco Antonio Rubio, came in at 159.5lbs while the challenger was a smidgen lighter at 159lbs on the dot.

Things got heated between Nonito Donaire and Wilfredo Vazquez Jr at the final presser for their ‘Welcome to the Future’ show this Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The rivalry, which had up on to this week been very respectful, exploded during the face off after Vazquez Jr knocked off Donaire’s hat leading to a shoving match and various insults being hurled at each other.

The World Boxing Council has released a statement approving middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Champion Emeritus Sergio Martinez to meet next if they come through their respective bouts in the coming months.
