Legendary trainer Angelo Dundee dies age 90

The boxing world was today mourning the loss of legendary trainer Angelo Dundee, former trainer of Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 90.

Dundee is believed to have died from a heart attack following the development of a blood clot that meant he spent time in hospital before moving to a healthcare centre.

Booth: ‘Chisora and Mormeck no challenge for Klitschkos’

David Haye’s trainer Adam Booth dismissed Dereck Chisora’s chances against Vitali Klitschko next month as he criticised the Ukrainian brothers for their opponent choices throughout their reign as heavyweight kings.

Heavyweight contender Dereck Chisora has slammed David Haye ahead of his WBC title challenge against Vitali Klitschko on February 18, calling for the former WBA champion to ‘stay retired’.

Harrison back in the ring April 14

Former European heavyweight champion Audley Harrison has confirmed he will be returning to the ring on April 14 to take on Iraqi-born Ali Adams at the Brentwood Centre in Essex.

Harrison last fought in November 2010 when he was humiliated by David Haye after failing to throw a punch in a heavily promoted challenge for the WBA heavyweight title.

Veteran promoter Frank Warren hit out at young rival Eddie Hearn last night for comments the Matchroom Sport boss made about Warren’s new broadcast venture BoxNation and recent negotiations for a Billy Joe Saunders fight.

Klitschko: ‘Lennox’s mum stopped him fighting me’

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has revealed that former undisputed champ Lennox Lewis was prevented from offering him a rematch, by his mother.

Klitschko was ahead on points in his 2003 title fight with Lewis before a cut eye stopped it in the sixth round and the longstanding champion said his hopes of a rematch were only dashed by the Brit’s mother.

Khan vs Peterson weigh-in pictures and video
