Former light-welterweight champion Amir Khan has kicked off his training camp with Brit coach Joe Gallagher as he prepares to reclaim his titles from Lamont Peterson on May 19 in Las Vegas.
Khan: ‘I’m not afraid to say I’m a Muslim’
WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion Amir Khan has spoken about his faith claiming he is not ‘afraid’ to say he is Muslim and feels obligated to bring people together from different communities.
Khan, who recently returned from a dinner at the White House with other influential Muslims, told the Independent on Sunday that he is able to reach people of various backgrounds because of his honesty.
Khan opens his gym to Gallagher camp
WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion Amir Khan has opened his Bolton gym to trainer Joe Gallagher and his camp after the respected trainer left his gym in Manchester.
Gallagher revealed in his MEN column last week that he would be leaving Kerry Kayes’ Betta Bodies gym after three years at the Denton premises where Ricky Hatton and Billy Graham plotted the Hitman’s route to worldwide stardom.
