Anthony Ogogo became the seventh British boxer to secure London 2012 selection after beating Belarusian Vitali Bandarenka 14-7 in his semi-final at the European boxing qualifiers on Friday.
Middleweight Ogogo, a silver medallist at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, has only just returned to the ring after five months out following shoulder surgery, an injury he blamed for his failure to qualify at the first attempt last year.
Great Britain came away with their best ever medal haul from the World Amateur Championships in Baku this weekend despite an agonising final day that saw Luke Campbell, Andrew Selby, and Anthony Joshua all narrowly denied gold.
European champion Selby lost 13-12 to world number one Misha Aloyan of Russia at flyweight, while Hull's Campbell was then edged out 14-10 by Cuba's Lazaro Alvarez in the bantamweight final.
LIVE on BoxNation (Sky channel 456) starting tomorrow (Wed 5 Oct) is the quarter-finals of the World Amateur Championships from Baku in Azerbaijan.
The semi-finals (Fri 7 Oct) and final (Sat 8 Oct) will also be televised LIVE on the UK's first and only dedicated fight channel - Boxnation. Eight British boxers in seven weight divisions will compete today in the last-16 stage of the tournament.
