Hopkins becomes oldest ever world champion

Future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins made history on Saturday night when he dethroned Jean Pascal to become the oldest ever boxer to hold a major world title.

The 46-year-old ring veteran won a unanimous decision, 116-112, 115-113, and 115-114 on the judges’ cards to claim the WBC light-heavyweight crown in front a record crowd of 17,750 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
