Frank Warren yesterday officially announced the long awaited showdown between WBO light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly and challenger Tony Bellew for October 15 at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.

Cleverly vs Bellew set for October 15

WBO light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly and British and Commonwealth titleholder Tony Bellew are on the verge of agreeing to fight on October 15 at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.

The fight is set to put the long time rivals finally together in the ring for what will be Cleverly’s first title defence since winning the vacant strap back in May.

After a thrilling first contest, notable for its four knockdowns, the rematch was a much tamer affair which Bellew bossed behind his job from the opening bell getting it 119-110, 118-112, 118-112 on the judges cards.
