Having caught the tournament bug from their exciting Super Six Boxing Classic, Showtime will kick off a second tournament on Saturday night when they match the world’s best bantamweights in a two-round, single-elimination tournament.
We caught up with man of the moment Carl Froch to talk about his destruction of Arthur Abraham and having to listen to his missus screaming all the way through the fight.
Carl, good job. Was that the best performance of your career?
In a busy night of boxing in the US to mark Thanksgiving weekend, all champions successfully retained their titles.
Hometown boy Andre Ward defeated tough challenger Sakio Bika in front of a hometown crowd in Oakland, California in the second defence of his WBA super-middleweight title. Showing he could rough it with the best of them, Ward scrapped his way to a unanimous points victory.
Carl Froch defeated Arthur Abraham in a punch-perfect unanimous points victory to regain the WBC super-middleweight belt just one fight on from losing it to Mikkel Kessler in April.
Froch was awarded every round by two of the judges, and 11 by the other to take the fight 120-108, 120-108, and 119-109 on the judges’ cards. His shutout performance was accentuated by keeping Abraham at distance with a sharp judge and varied combinations around the body and head.

Carl Froch and Arthur Abraham took to the scales yesterday afternoon in Helsinki, with both making the 168lb weight limit ahead of their Super Six showdown tonight. Froch was first up on the scales, coming in quite comfortably at 167.1lbs with Abraham a little closer to the limit at 167.6lbs.
