WBO re-scores fight in favour of Pacquiao

The WBO yesterday announced that its five-man judging panel review of Timothy Bradley’s controversial win over Manny Pacquiao on June 9 returned a unanimous decision for the Filipino congressman.

WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley has branded his promoter Bob Arum a ‘liar’ and laid down the gauntlet to Brit rival Amir Khan who he says he’ll happily face if his rematch with Manny Pacquiao fails to materialise.

WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and challenger Andy Lee made weight ahead of their championship clash on Saturday night at the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas, live on BoxNation (Sky 456, Virgin 546).

Champion Chavez Jr clocked in at 159lbs on the button while Irish fighter Lee came in a touch heavier at 159.25lbs. And with both fighters having made weight, problems arose when Lee’s camp asked that the gloves be weighed.

Bradley shocks the world with controversial decision

Manny Pacquiao lost his WBO welterweight title to Timothy Bradley on Saturday night after a highly controversial split points decision in Las Vegas.

Despite landing 94 more punches, the Filipino fighter was beaten for the first time in seven years after two judges scored the bout 115-113 in the undefeated American's favour.

Having invited the media to see him train at his base deep in the Californian desert, Timothy Bradley came to the people on Tuesday to workout at the more big fight-friendly Fortune Gym in Hollywood. And the fighter is starting to look more and more comfortable on the big stage, arriving in his very own Team Bradley bus and producing a poster for the contracted rematch in November should he defeat Manny Pacquiao.
