Laryea puts vodoo curse on Burns
Ghanaian super-featherweight Joseph Laryea claims he has put a voodoo curse on WBO titleholder Ricky Burns ahead of their March 12 clash at the Braehead Arena, Glasgow.
Having disposed of highly-rated Paul Appleby on his last visit to Scotland, Layrea has been very vocal since getting his title shot and took the pre-match jibes to a whole new level with his latest stunt.
The Ghanaian's team told Frankwarren.tv that they had put a hex on the Scotsman that involved a pigeon being cursed and then sent to sit on the roof of Burns' gym.
Vodoo expert Okomfo Benin Gambaga said, ‘The bird will rest at the training home of the Scottish warrior Ricky Burns and remain there from sunrise to sunset.
‘The bird is a bearer of impending bad luck and there is nothing Burns can do to reverse the curse.
‘Burns would be foolish to start a conflict with supernatural powers. Not only will he face the power of Joseph Laryea, but also the power of 100 evil spirits.’
Not at all worried by the threat, Ricky Burns hit back by saying, ‘I'd like someone to tell me exactly how this pigeon is going to make it all the way to Scotland, let alone find my gym.’
