Bradley: ‘Khan run around like a chicken’
Bradley who is the only fighter to beat Peterson, winning a unanimous decision over the Washington man in 2009, lamented Khan’s defence and labelled his decision to fight in Washington DC ‘arrogant’.
‘I thought Khan run around like chicken s**t,’ Bradley told Boxingscene.com. ‘How are you going to be the champion and win a championship fight like that?’
‘Lamont sealed the deal and did what he had to do. The rematch is going to be the same thing. I just hope Lamont lets his hands go a little bit more. One thing about Khan, he lets his hands go, but he has no defence.
‘Khan can’t adjust, he only has one gear and that’s full speed all the time. He doesn’t know how to slow it down. He doesn’t know how to slip and slide, or bob and weave. His defence is his feet, running around the ring and getting away.
‘Going to Peterson’s hometown was the stupidest move Khan and his promoter decided to do. That’s arrogance; to go to his hometown and you’re the champion. They set themselves up for failure.
‘I’m happy for Lamont. He’s humble and he comes from a humble background. He comes from basically nothing and went right to the top. It’s great to have a good guy like that actually win
‘But you look at my fight with Lamont and you look at Khan’s fight, just completely different. He’s supposed to be this superior boxer, this great superstar of the 140-pound division. Give me a break.’
